New Publications

I have posted in the sidebar, several new poems, articles, and interviews that have recently been published, or are forthcoming, from Star*Line, Beyond Centauri, Illumen, Helicon Form 2, and Scifaikuest. It didn't feel like I was publishing all that much lately, but when I add it up, it hasn't been a bad year at all. My output has not been as high lately, primarily because I've been busy with Grad School applications. After I am accepted into an MFA program I will be actively pursuing publishing again.

Congrats on your successes, J. This is a pretty good group. I've seen the ones in Star*Line, of course. Let me know what happens with the MFA program. Good luck on that.

All the best of luck on the MFA quest. Been there, done that, so I know what it's like -- it took me THREE applications to get into UNC-Wilmington. But then again, I was being a little too selective, as that was consistently the only school I was applying to for awhile. I can say, however, having gotten into and out of a program, successfully, that it's trully worth the time. My one thing, however, was I wish my advisors would have been a little more up front on how freakin' hard it is to get a full time English Dept. Job that does more than teach freshman comp, part time.

by the way, I'm posting a link on my blog.

Thanks for the encouragement Rich. I am actually applying to about 40 schools, hopefully I can get in somewhere on the first go-round. My advisors have been up-front with me, and I know how hard it is to break into teaching. I am planning on getting my Ph.D imediately after my MFA, and that should help. I'll know in a few months where i will end up. --J

Congratulations on the string of publications. Best wishes with grad school, too.
